Did you spot Prince Louis’ amazing Harry Potter connection?

OK, so we know Prince Louis probably wasn’t named after Louis Tomlinson, Louis Walsh or Louis Theroux – but could the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been a teeny bit inspired by Harry Potter when picking the royal baby’s name?
Again, probably not, but we’ve just discovered that the name has an amazing connection to JK Rowling’s series, and specifically, the wonderful Weasley family.

And let us not forget the time Kate and William had a whale of a time on the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio tour – incidentally when Kate was pregnant with Prince George.

Did you spot Prince Louis’ amazing Harry Potter connection? The Harry Potter Twitter account Pottermore has pointed out that Louis Arthur Charles just happens to be the names of three iconic Weasley family members.

“Louis Arthur Charles, you were named after three iconic Weasleys…,” the account tweeted shortly after Kensington Palace confirmed the royal baby’s name this morning.

Arthur is of course the father of the Weasley family, Charles – OK, maybe more Charlie – is one of Ron’s older brothers, and Louis is the name of Bill and Fleur’s youngest son. Fans are obviously into it, with one tweeting: “The Weasley family approves.

Awww that’s the best comment I’ve read today, makes me love the name even more.”

We know that the royals are big HP fans. During William, Kate and Harry’s Harry Potter tour back in 2013, William had joked: “Harry’s just excited to see a real life talking owl in the Harry Potter studios.

“I haven’t told him yet that Harry Potter is fictional, so please keep the secret for a little longer.?” He added: “Our nation’s extraordinary capacity for talent is not a thing of the past.

It is worth reminding ourselves that the Harry Potter book series has become the most popular series ever to be printed, and the Harry Potter movie series – filmed right here – is the most successful in history.” See, huge fan. Louis – which is one of Prince George’s middle names – is believed to be a nod to Prince Charles’ beloved mentor Louis Mountbatten, and is also a very common name for British royalty.

It means “renowned warrior”. A Harry Potter warrior sounds pretty good to us… MORE: THE ROYAL HISTORY BEHIND LOUIS ARTHUR CHARLES
