Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cake looks delicious

Details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal wedding cake were revealed before the big day and it sounded delicious. And the final cake did not disappoint.

Kensington Palace released a photo of the white, three-tiered creation adorned with fresh white peonies and roses, designed by Claire Ptak.

It said: ‘The wedding cake is to be served at the Reception. It was designed by Claire Ptak and features elderflower syrup made at The Queen’s residence in Sandringham from the estate’s own elderflower trees, as well as a light sponge cake uniquely formulated for the couple.’

The Palace added that the filling was made from Amalfi lemon curd and elderflower buttercream.

Harry and Meghan’s beautiful cake was decorated with Swiss meringue buttercream and 150 fresh flowers, which are mainly British and in season.

Claire Ptak was revealed as the cake designer of choice for the royal couple in the run-up to the wedding.

She is the owner of Violet Bakery in London and was assisted by a team of six other bakers for the royal commission.

The bride and groom will cut the wedding cake during their lunchtime reception hosted by The Queen at St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle, where they will be joined by 600 guests.

The menu for the couple’s wedding breakfast features ten-hour slow roasted Windsor pork belly, Scottish langoustines wrapped in smoked salmon and free-range chicken served with morel mushrooms.
