What’s new on Amazon Prime Video (November 2018)

Each month, Amazon adds a healthy dose of fresh content, providing viewers with a significant number of new and interesting things to watch. With so much new stuff, it can be hard to know what to watch without doing extensive research. Never fear, streaming enthusiasts and Amazon Fire TV owners: If you’re looking for the best of what’s new on Amazon Prime Video this October and November, we’re here to help.

November brings the premiere of Amazon’s original series Homecoming, which casts Julia Roberts as a former caseworker for a government agency known as the Homecoming Transitional Support Center. Her character becomes caught up with the secrets surrounding the organization after a visit from a Department of Defense auditor, and she’s forced to reconcile what she tells herself about her former job and what the truth reveals. The series is developed, directed, and executive produced by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail.

Also premiering in November is the first season of Beat, an Amazon Prime Original series that follows a techno club promoter who’s recruited by the European Secret Service as part of an international corruption investigation. Set against the backdrop of the club scene and its music, this German series follows its protagonist through the criminal underground as he gets mixed up with a world of drug, organ, and arms trafficking lurking underneath the surface of the European party life.

Amazon will also dive into the making of motorsports enthusiast Ken Block’s popular Gymkhana series with the premiere of Gymkhana Files, a new series that will go behind the scenes of Block’s automotive stunt films leading up to the release of Gymkhana 10 in December. The Gymkhana Files series will be composed of eight episodes that explore how the upcoming installment of Gymkhana was made, from the cars and locations to the crazy (and almost certainly life-threatening) moments that make the Gymkhana series so popular.

There are also plenty of new and noteworthy movies and television series not produced in-house that will be available to Amazon Prime subscribers this upcoming month, too. Season 3 of sci-fi series The Expanse and the first season of Little Women both arrive on Amazon in November, as well as a few under-appreciated classic comedies, including 1985’s Weird Science and the hilarious 1996 film The Birdcage.
