Sainsbury's announces 10p per litre discount on fuel – here's how to claim – Halifax Courier

Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has announced a new discount on fuel for its customers, offering 10p per litre off at the pumps.

From this Friday (June 27) until Tuesday July 2 customers will be able to claim a special coupon entitling them to the discount.

To qualify for the saving, you need to spend at least £60 in one of the chain’s supermarkets or on online groceries. You will then be issued with a voucher which is valid for 14 days.

Where can you use the voucher?

The voucher is valid at 306 Sainsbury’s filling stations around the country. It can be redeemed against the purchase of unleaded petrol, super unleaded petrol, diesel or LPG up to a maximum of 100 litres.

However, you can’t use it if you’re paying at the pump, meaning you won’t be able to get the discount at its [email protected] forecourts at Hazel Grove, Hawick, Whitehouse Farm, Livingston, Dartmouth, Ely, Sudbury and Faversham.

Price war

The new offer comes weeks after the big four supermarkets embarked on a series of price cuts at their filling stations.

Karen O’Connor, fuel category manager at Sainsbury’s, said: “We always aim to offer our customers great value products and services, whether they’re filling up their trolley in store or their cars at the pumps.

“That’s why we’re offering customers 10p per litre off fuel when they spend £60 or more on groceries at a Sainsbury’s supermarket or online. What’s more, the offer coincides with our Nectar 5x points promotion across a range of products, helping put even more money back in customers’ pockets.”

Conditions

Under Sainsbury’s rules, you are only entitled to one voucher per in-store or online transaction, so spending £120 won’t get you two coupons. You also won’t get a voucher for purchases made at “Central” or “Local” stores and spending on the following also won’t count towards the £60: spirits and liqueurs, fuel, first stage baby milk products, National Lottery, tobacco, gift vouchers, gift cards, prescription medicines, over the counter medicines, postage stamps, savings stamps, mobile phone vouchers, travel money, phonecards, e-topup, PayPoint payments, charity products, carrier bags, cafe transactions and car park tickets.

You’re also only allowed to use one coupon per transaction and for one vehicle – so no filling up two cars at the same time.
