Newport County boss sets 2,000 target for season ticket sales – South Wales Argus

NEWPORT County AFC manager Michael Flynn has challenged fans to push the number of season tickets sold beyond 2,000 before the start of the new season.

County have announced that sales have topped 1,500 and Flynn wants to boost that number even further before the League Two campaign kicks off at home to Mansfield Town on Saturday, August 3.

The club sold a total of 1,542 season tickets last season, including 1,295 before the first game.

“It's brilliant,” Flynn told iFollowExiles.

“It's a good start, but I would love to reach the 2,000 mark ahead of the new season.

“There's been a continues improvement year after year since we’ve been in charge and it goes to show that we're raising the profile of Newport County AFC and the area.

“As a football club, we need as many spectators as we can.

“We haven’t got a sugar daddy and we operate on losses every year and it’s a good job that we’ve had the FA Cup runs to boost the income for the football club.”

Season ticket holders will receive a host of benefits for the forthcoming league and cup campaign.

They will be able to save up to £139 across the 23-match league season.

They will get a priority allocation on away ticket sales and access to the priority sales windows for FA Cup ties, end-of-season play-offs, and other cup competitions.

And they will have the option to retain assigned seats for cup matches (subject to availability).

They will get a 10 per cent discount in the club shop and will also be able to bring a friend for free to a selected League Two fixture.

Season tickets are available online at and from the club shop in the Kingsway Centre.

Special 100 Club season tickets are also available for the 2019/2020 campaign.

Members of the 100 Club are assured of a Bisley Stand seat, a match programme, an official team sheet, a half-time tea or coffee and access to the 100 Club Lounge and pay bar for each league match.

An adult 100 Club season ticket for the new season costs £488, which represents a saving of £133 across the 23 home league fixtures.

Flynn’s men returned for the start of pre-season training on Thursday and the manager is pleased with how the first two days have gone.

“It went really well; everyone has come back in great shape and in good spirits,” said the Exiles boss.

“They all looked very good and the training base being done up over the summer has given everyone a lift."
