If the device manufacturer has its own mail-in recycling program, it can be ideal, since they’ll be able to disassemble your old phone most efficiently.

Shipping instructions will vary by program, but you’ll need a box and shipping label at least. Step 6: Some phone recycling programs will pay for e-waste shipping, while others will require you to pay for shipping. Find the details, and then get that old phone out the door!
