Asda to extend discount for NHS staff until March 2023

Supermarket giant Asda has extended a discount scheme for NHS staff until March 31, 2023. It has originally been announced that it would end on December 31, 2022. Asda announced last year that they were thanking anyone working in emergency services, including the NHS, police, fire, social care sector and armed forces with a ten percent discount to use in store.

With NHS staff continuing to work tirelessly during the ‘permacrisis’, NHS staff have just days to claim the discount off food and soft drinks, George clothing and homeware, toys, gifts and optical purchases. Mohsin Issa, Asda’s co-owner, said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with the Blue Light Card into its third year until the end of March 2023. McDonald’s restaurants will also be stopping the 20 percent off deal for NHS staff on December 31.

The Blue Light Card has saved its 3m members more than GBP250m throughout 2022.
