While some World Cup matches feature international teams meeting for the first time, Portugal and Switzerland are familiar foes. The two teams square off on Tuesday for the third time this year with a spot in the World Cup quarterfinals at stake.

Portugal and Switzerland split home and home UEFA Nations League matches in June, with Portugal first winning 4-0 and Switzerland rebounding with a 1-0 win the week later. This third international match this year for the teams promises European bragging rights and the chance to advance in the World Cup knockout stage.

The Swiss are mighty underdogs, but they’re coming off a stirring, come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Serbia, while Portugal has been dealing with a meaningless group-stage loss to South Korea and on-field drama around superstar Christiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal-Switzerland game kicks off on Tuesday, Dec.

6, at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT). The match will be shown nationwide in the US on Peacock and Fox, which is available on numerous live TV streaming services.
