New Super Mario Sale Arrives Just In Time For The Movie

If you’re looking forward to seeing the Mario movie like a ton of other Super Mario fans out there, you’ll be pleased to know that all his games are going on sale in celebration. Nintendo announced recently that lots of their Super Mario games are going on sale. Some of these titles have sales for the first time since their release.

Tons of Mario games are being brought to European Switch eShops in celebration of the Mario movie’s arrival. The first wave of discounts goes live on the 5th of April. If something you want with the red-capped plumber isn’t on that list, don’t worry.

Another wave of discounts will head toward the eShop starting on April 20th.

What Mario Games Will Go On Sale?

While we don’t have a complete list of games to show you, we can give a few titles that you can plan on. Most Mario titles never see price cuts, but with the movie being out and about after a long development time, we suppose Nintendo is just being generous over the occasion. That, or offering discounted games around the movie release, is a marketing tactic.

Either way, one of the biggest titles we’ve noticed going on sale for the first time is Super Mario Maker 2. To get this title, you have £20 off, whereas the normal price would usually be £60. If creating your own maps to torture your friends or strangers isn’t quite your thing, there are still plenty of other Mario games to look forward to.

The sale also includes Super Mario Odyssey, a great title that hasn’t seen a sale since release. That game is also £40 instead of the standard £60. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is also getting a markdown of about £20. While some of these aren’t confirmed, I’d keep an eye out for markdowns in the following titles over the next few days:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
  • Super Mario Maker

I can’t think of a better way to get into the spirit of the new Super Mario movie than with a new game.
