In 1955 Dieter Rams arrived at Braun, quickly making a name for himself within the company. In the late 1970s, Rams concerned by a world of ‘impenetrable confusion of forms, colours, and noises’, asked himself an important question: is my design good design? Expressing the answer in his ten principles for good design that would become an enduring design philosophy. Braun won a rapid succession of national and international prizes and awards for its products, becoming world-famous as a design brand and the first company to bring ‘good design’ to the mass market.
Over the last six decades, design has become a core pillar of the Braun brand. The values of quality, functionality, clarity, longevity, and timelessness have been integrated into an enduring design philosophy.
