Bin City bringing extreme discount shopping to North Bay
Samuel Quesnel and Chloe Boivenue are hoping to bring some retail fun to the City of North Bay, promising a “true treasure hunt experience.” The two young entrepreneurs, originally from Cornwall but with family in North Bay, have moved here to open up a new business called “Bin City Liquidation” which is located on Shirreff Ave. in the Century Centre Plaza on the north end of the city. It’s the first bin store in North Bay and if it is as successful as the couple hopes, expansion to other northern Ontario cities is on the horizon.
“We buy in bulk to pass the extreme savings directly to customers. With up to 10,000 new items every Friday, it’s a true treasure hunt,” say the couple. The approximately 5,000-square-foot Bin City location will offer overstock and returns from big box stores, such as Amazon and Walmart at bargain prices
Sam and Chloe say the inventory is unpredictable. “Whatever comes off the semi-truck, customers get to dig for,” said Quesnel. “Tablets, cameras, tools, car accessories, small appliances, clothing, and toys. “We believe that our store will provide a valuable service to the community by offering affordable products to consumers.”
Quesnel adds that the store inventory changes weekly. “A new shipment of product arrives weekly, the store will be restocked on Thursdays, and every Friday we open with every bin item selling at £25. It is first come first serve,” he explained.
“Every day the inventory decreases in price by £5 until Wednesday when everything is just £2.”
“Liquidation bin stores are becoming increasingly popular across Canada, and North Bay seemed like the perfect location for the couple to bring this concept to the community,” says a news release. “Since announcing their opening a few months ago, they have received positive feedback from followers and are excited to serve the North Bay community.”
Sam and Chloe will have the grand opening this Friday, March 24.
