Carson City offers free waste disposal vouchers for residents doing …
With much of the heavy snow from earlier this year having melted, there remains a lot of debris that’s ready be raked up, piled and hauled away. Carson City is again offering waste disposal vouchers for residents that can be found on their March or April utility bill. The voucher is for residential use only and not for commercial use.
Renters may pick up a voucher between March 31 to June 30 at the Public Works Office, 3505 Butti Way. Bring a photo ID showing proof of residency. The voucher is for one-time use and will be collected by the landfill attendant at the time of use.
No vouchers will be distributed after June 30. Public Works advises the following:
— The voucher is limited to one residential load, a maximum load is one pickup bed and one small 4 foot by 8 foot trailer. — No commercial loads.
— Oil and antifreeze recycling limited to 5 gallons each. — Maximum three automotive batteries. — Maximum four tires (auto and light truck only.)
— Public Works reminds voucher holders that all loads must be covered to prevent blowing trash. — No household hazardous waste (paints, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, liquids.) To drop off these items for free disposal call (775) 283-7380 or (775) 283-7390 to make an appointment. — Household hazardous waste cannot be accepted without an appointment.
— Vouches can be used at the landfill through Oct.
31.
