This may be the year of the £5+ cartons of real eggs, but worry not: there are still plenty of opportunities this spring for your kids to collect the plastic, candy-filled kind at no cost. More than a dozen orgs have egg hunts planned in Philly over the next two weekends. Hosts range from churches and park friends groups to cafes and stables.

The vast majority of events are free to attend — though most are also BYOB (bring your own basket). If you’re planning to take your kids to an egg hunt, it’s a good idea to check if there are age restrictions or registration requirements. Also, make sure you know the exact time the hunt starts, since some events include additional springtime activities.

Another tip: dress for the weather, and be ready to readjust your plans if there’s a cancellation or postponement (a good number of events are scheduled for this Saturday, which is forecasted to be rainy).

Read on for a list of some upcoming hunts and Easter events throughout the city — links with more details on each are in the headings.
