Lidl’s popular ‘sold out’ clothing range returns with a new look
When you’re in the market for some new clothes, budget supermarket Lidl won’t be the first brand that pops into your head. But the last time the discount chain brought out its clothing range, in 2021, shoppers went mad for it. Two years ago, people queued for hours to get their hands on branded goods, with the range selling out rapidly.
Now, we could be in for a repeat performance. The German supermarket has announced the release of its second budget-friendly collection. Lidl x Lidl items will hit shelves on Thursday, March 23, with prices from as low as GBP1.99.

Logo-emblazoned trainers were the most-coveted items last time around. At their peak, one pair was sold every three seconds. Resellers cashed in on all the hype and the trainers started changing hands for massive amounts of money.
A pair on Finnish auction site Tori listed for a whopping GBP5,400. The updated version is more subtle, featuring a white sole and upper alongside red, blue and yellow accents. But with an RRP of GBP14.99, you can expect another stampede.
Lidl described the first iteration shoes as a “must-have for any Lidl-loving fan, or followers of the latest trainer trends”, adding, “their classic retro style makes them the perfect pop of colour for any look”.

Graphic T-shirts are also available adults and children in black and white colourways to make the bright logo stand out. The Lidl x Lidl fashion line launches in stores on Thursday March 23, so get there early. In January, Lidl announced it had earmarked 12 locations across Leicestershire where it wants to open new stores.
The German supermarket chain currently has 947 Lidl retail stores across the United Kingdom and it was announced earlier this year that it had become the sixth largest supermarket across the country. And intends to continue expanding with a GBP1.3bn investment in more stores throughout the UK. As part of these plans, the company is hoping to open 1,100 stores by the end of 2025.
