In other news, unruly scenes were witnessed in the state Assembly on Friday after Congress MLAs demanded the suspension of those Shiv Sena and BJP MLAs, who had allegedly hit a poster of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with shoes on Thursday for his alleged remarks against Hindu ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
In response, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that while the BJP and his party are not supporting the act of the ruling MLAs, “insulting Savarkar is an anti-national act and would not be tolerated”.
