By Scott Etkin and Lisa Kava Ever/Body, a cosmetic dermatology provider, opened at 2159 Broadway (76th Street) on March 17th. The center offers “personalized, high-tech and medically-vetted cosmetic dermatology services,” including many types of peels, facials and fillers.
Ever/Body opened its first center in NYC in 2019 and the new UWS location will be its eighth overall. “We chose the Upper West Side because we believe this community would welcome a higher standard of cosmetic dermatology,” said CEO Amy Shecter. “We are thrilled to have a prime location on Broadway to deliver personalized skin, hair and body treatments to our clients in a beautiful, luxurious space.” The center will take up almost half the block, filling vacancies left by Stuart Weitzman, Papyrus and L’Occitane.

Bardolino 2, a pizza shop at 411 Amsterdam Avenue, closed two weeks ago, a worker from the Upper East Side location told West Side Rag. According to the worker there was “too much competition from many other pizza places in the neighborhood.” The original location of Bardolino Pizza at 1505 Lexington (at 97th Street) remains open. Intimissimi, an Italian lingerie brand founded in 1996, opened at 241 Columbus Avenue on the corner of 71st Street on March 17th. In addition to lingerie, Intimissimi sells pajamas, socks, and swimwear.
The brand has a few shops in Manhattan as well as on Long Island and in New Jersey and Connecticut. The space was formerly occupied by the high-end European clothing store, IRO. The Jewel Boutique, the longtime jewelry shop at 2586 Broadway between 97th and 98th Streets, is closed temporarily from March 18th until April 2nd.
A note to customers apologizes for any inconvenience and says that “all personal belongings and valuables are at a secure and separate vaulted location.” Established in 1989, The Jewel Boutique specializes in custom designs and re-styling. “You dream it, I’ll make it,” said owner Harmeet Singh, when he was featured in WSR’s Small Business Focus back in 2017.

Barnes & Noble on Broadway and the corner of 82nd Street has closed its cafe until April 15th for renovations. The cafe is being moved to the second floor, where other renovations are already underway. Areas toward the middle of the floor have been curtained off, while most of the bookshelves around the perimeter of the space remain in use.
The rest of the construction is expected to wrap up around May, a store clerk said. Barnes & Noble opened this UWS location 30 years ago, when it was driving local, independent booksellers out of business. After being disrupted by Amazon, Barnes & Noble is now having a comeback – sales are up since the pandemic and it is refurbishing many of its stores and opening new ones.

A manager at the store said they are still receiving inventory and hasn’t heard when they will close yet.

We will update when we have more information. (Thanks to Tracy for the tip.)
