This OnePlus Nord CE 2 stands out first of all by its very appreciable handling: with its featherweight of 173 grams, it will be suitable for those who are above all looking for a light device. Moreover, if this smartphone will not particularly shine with its very simple design (rounded edges, and slightly too thick screen borders), it is its screen that will allow it to score points. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 indeed incorporates a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel, which allows us to enjoy almost infinite contrasts and deep blacks on a comfortable diagonal.

Honorable performances

On the performance side, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip, which promises sufficient power for classic everyday tasks. However, it will be necessary to make some concessions on 3D games. If greedy games like Fortnite can be launched, the graphics should not be pushed to their maximum, otherwise you will suffer from some rather annoying slowdowns.

Regarding the photo part, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 has a module consisting of a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The main sensor offers beautiful detailed shots with controlled colorimetry, but dynamic management will sometimes be too average. Also beware of light conditions, as you will notice a glaring loss of sharpness in photos taken at night.

Unfortunately, the night mode will not be enough to really correct this defect.

Special mention for fast charging

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 makes up for it greatly with its substantial 65 W fast charge, which is rather rare at this price point. In just 20 minutes, you can go from 1 to 75% battery. Otherwise, with its 4,500 mAh battery, the smartphone can easily last a full day, or even a day and a half with more moderate use.
