Lowe’s is converting.

The popular home improvement store, with about 60 stores across the country, says it will be changing the name of all its Canadian stores to RONA, another well-known Canadian hardware and home improvement store that Lowe’s acquired in 2016.

RONA inc. announced in February that it has re-established itself as an independent company following its acquisition by Sycamore Partners from Lowe’s Companies, Inc.

“Our Lowe’s stores will begin a new journey under the umbrella of a strong Canadian brand that has been serving customers for over 80 years: RONA,” the company said in an online statement. “As we do for every project we help you carry out, we are designing this transition with one goal in mind: make it the best experience for you.”

Lowe’s said it will continue to carry national and private brands, honour service agreements and warranties, honour gift cards, offer financing and protection plans, fill and deliver online orders and offer all the advantages of the VIPpro program, an app that offers members discounts and exclusive offers.

 

“The conversion of the Lowe’s stores will have no impact on you,” the company said.
