Try the groceries price check that gives you the full picture
Trading Standards officers took this message to the public by hosting a stall on the market at Northallerton recently, where they spoke to shoppers about getting value for money on the goods they buy. Officers enjoyed great conversations with visitors to the stall about how everyday goods are priced, and it was clear that many shoppers are already savvy when it comes to spotting a bargain. The stall displayed a variety of grocery items with different prices to show the importance of checking the unit price of a product, not just the overall cost.
The team will be among organisations attending a slipper social event for older people at Ripon Library on Friday, 31 March, and more information about unit pricing is available on the Government’s website.
