UConn's Jordan Hawkins hands out Dunkin' gift cards to students as …
At the beginning of the college basketball season, UConn head coach Dan Hurley said that star player Jordan Hawkins could play himself into being a potential first-round pick in the NBA Draft. Fast-forward to the present day, Hawkins and the Huskies will be playing in a Final Four game for the first time since 2014. UConn will square off against Miami on Saturday night in Houston, with a chance to play for another national championship.
Entering the Final Four, Hawkins is averaging 16.8 points and the Huskies have beaten every single one of their opponents by double-digits, including an 88-65 win over Arkansas in the Sweet 16, and a 82-54 thrashing of Gonzaga in the Elite Eight. Prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament, Hawkins inked a NIL deal with Dunkin’, and before Hawkins and the Huskies traveled to Houston for the Final Four, the popular coffee brand made sure to capitalize on Hawkins’ name, image and likeness. Hawkins was seen handing out Dunkin’ gift cards, as well as doughnuts, to fellow UConn students on campus.
“S/o @Dunkin’ for helping me spread some love to my classmates and thank you Husky Nation for supporting us all season. #TeamDunkin’,” Hawkins wrote on his Instagram.
Hawkins, who is represented by Creative Artists Agency, had his NIL deal with Dunkin’ executed through Opendorse.
