Can you pay for Spotify or Netflix with the Cultural Bonus?
The Cultural Bonus of Spain is a Government initiative to promote access to culture and cultural activities for those who meet 18 years. This EUR400 voucher can be used to buy tickets to shows and cultural events, and can also be used to pay for services such as Spotify or Netflix. You just have to keep in mind that not the entire amount of money can be invested in a single purchase.
In fact, the bases require that it be as follows:
- 200 euros maximum in live arts, cultural heritage and audiovisual arts.
- A maximum of 100 euros in cultural products on physical support.
- EUR100 maximum in digital or online consumption.
So you can pay Spotify and Netflix with the Cultural Bonus, but with a maximum of 100 euros. Also, keep in mind that it will not be possible to have a subscription to more than four months with the bonus.
Redeem Spotify Premium
Many users report complaints and errors as it is not possible to directly redeem the Cultural Bonus on Spotify. But there is a trick.
For now, the music streaming app does not have a direct link that allows payment without a card. Therefore, it will be necessary to go to a physical establishment where they sell Spotify Premium cards, such as El Corte Ingles, Media Markt, FNAC or Game. It is recommended to ask beforehand if the purchase with the voucher is allowed in this establishment.
The staff must know the information before making the payment, and thus future errors will be avoided. Normally, these cards are priced at 10 euros, so we may have to buy the maximum quantity of 4 cards. Although the 100 euros of digital consumption have not been spent, the bases require that the subscription last no more than 4 months.
