Chamber collecting door prizes for Support Staff Reception
The Ponca City Chamber of Commerce will soon be hosting their Support Staff Reception on Thursday, April 13 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Chamber Office. Support staff are defined as librarians, classroom assistants, custodians, ICT technicians, school business managers, catering staff, crossing patrol officers, cover supervisors, examination officers, secretaries, attendance officers, admin assistants and other and positions that help in the day-to-day operations of a school. The Support Staff Reception has been a staple of the Chamber’s activities for more than a decade and serves as their way of honoring and recognizing the work that these staff members put in, and the Chamber does so by providing treats and door prizes.
The Chamber is currently in the process of collecting door prizes for the support staff. Items in the past have included everything from gift cards, Chamber Bucks, bath and body works, gas cards, flower arrangements, hats, t-shirts, barbecue sets, coffee mugs, gift certificates and more. The Support Staff Reception is one of many ways that the Chamber assists in education, along with their successful Partners in Education (PIE) program that links Chamber businesses with the schools, both public and private, in Ponca City to enrich and extend educational opportunities of students in Ponca City while also fostering a deeper understanding of the school system within the community.
Those wishing to donate items can bring them to the Chamber Officer before 5 pm on Wednesday, April 12.
