Theft of $1380 reported at Dunham's in BG
Police took a theft report at Woodland Mall earlier this week with a reported loss of more than £1,300 in merchandise. On Wednesday at around 4 p.m., Bowling Green police received a theft report from Dunham’s at Woodland Mall. Two cashiers reported seeing a man and woman pass all points of sale with several items that had not been paid for.
One cashier said the woman approached the register to check out a large quantity of items, including clothing, and ringing up the goods took longer than normal due to the amount of security tags that had to be removed, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report. While the cashier was completing the checkout process, she observed a man exit the store carrying a speaker, boom box and four packs of orange earbuds. The female tried to pay with two different prepaid gift cards, but both cards were declined, according to the police report.
The woman reached across the counter, collected all the bags and exited the store. Two cashiers told police the couple got into an older dark blue Chevrolet. The amount of clothing and stereo equipment taken was estimated at £1,380, according to the report.
The assistant store manager collected photos of the vehicle and provided video footage of the incident.
