Tottenham Hotspur are one of the active suitors in the race for Chelsea attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech, according to a report. Ziyech almost left Chelsea towards the end of the January transfer window. However, the paperwork for his loan move to Paris Saint-Germain didn’t go through in time.
Despite having impressed for Morocco at the World Cup in the winter, it has been hard for him to win Graham Potter over since. Potter has only handed Ziyech two starts in the Premier League since his failed exit. Coincidentally, the last of those actually came against Tottenham, towards the end of February.
After how much Chelsea have invested in other attacking talents, the 30-year-old might have to push for an exit again in the summer. Now, according to Jeunes Footeux, Tottenham could try to buy him from their fellow London side. The French outlet claims that Chelsea will listen to offers between EUR15million and EUR20m for Ziyech, which would equate to somewhere in the region of GBP13.2m to GBP17.6m.
Despite his age and lack of recent action, that seems an appealing price for a player as talented as Ziyech. After all, there are still two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge. Alternatively, Chelsea might even sanction a loan exit for Ziyech, as long as it contains an option to buy.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, meanwhile, Jeunes Footeux suggests interest from West Ham and Fulham.
Further afield, Real Betis, Fenerbahce and Besiktas all get mentions. One condition Ziyech might have to take into account is that he may need to lower his salary. PSG are a rich club, while Tottenham can fund decent salaries too.
But it might be a risk for either of them to match what Chelsea have been paying him.

Tottenham manager uncertainty doesn’t affect Hakim Ziyech interest
Ziyech has only scored 14 goals from 102 appearances for Chelsea. In contrast, he previously scored 49 goals from 165 appearances for Ajax, where he was more efficient.
Whoever takes Ziyech next will be hoping he can get back to his best. There is a talented player there, yet Chelsea haven’t been able to unlock his potential. Tottenham might give him a different kind of chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
It seems the current uncertainty over who will replace Antonio Conte as their head coach isn’t affecting their admiration of Ziyech. Yet it would seem logical for Spurs to work out what their setup will be next season before advancing with any kind of move for Ziyech. Indeed, that should be the case for any of their other transfer targets, for that matter.
Perhaps the lingering competition from PSG is forcing them to press ahead regardless, since they won’t want to miss out. However, it may help their efforts to be able to describe what their tactical project will be to Ziyech.
