German Tank Destroyer The Jagdpanzer IV/70 (V) was a German tank destroyer based on the proven chassis of the PzKpfw IV. It was produced by Vomag from 1944 and featured highly inclined front armor that offered additional protection against enemy fire. The armament included a powerful 7.5 cm tank defence gun PaK 42 L/70 (with 79 rounds of ammunition) and a 7.92 mm machine gun MG 34 or MG 42 (with 1200 rounds of ammunition). The tank destroyer IV/70 (V) was used in Italy, on the Eastern Front, in Normandy and during the Battle of the Bulge, where it played an important role in German defense. It was prized for its effectiveness against Allied tanks and its simple yet effective construction. Removable Motor – Under the removable maintenance hatch is a Maybach HL120 TRM motor. The engine can be removed and placed next to the vehicle.
