Important Usage Notes and Safety Guidelines

To ensure optimal performance and extended service life of your 10G SFP+ optical transceiver, please adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Handle with care – Electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection

Avoid direct contact with electrical contacts or LC connectors when handling the module to prevent ESD damage.

2. Insert Only into Compatible SFP+ Ports

This product is a 10G dual-mode SFP+ transceiver (1310nm wavelength, 300m transmission distance). Never insert into 1G SFP slots, copper cables (RJ45), single-mode fibre, or non-SFP+ ports – mismatched use may cause link failure or hardware damage.

3. Use Correct Fibre Optic Cables

Use only LC duplex fibre optic patch cords compliant with OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4 standards. Single-mode fibre, mismatched connectors, or damaged cables will cause signal loss or prevent link establishment.

4. Normal operating heat is expected

Modules feeling warm to the touch during operation is normal, resulting from the 10G laser driver and internal electronics. Moderate heat does not constitute a fault provided ambient temperatures remain between 0°C and 70°C and the host equipment is adequately ventilated.

5. Maintain cleanliness and protection of optical ports

Dust caps must be fitted to LC connectors when not in use. Contamination of connector end-faces with dust, fingerprints, or moisture will severely impair transmission performance.
