8K KVM HDBT Extender Kit 100m – HDMI 2.1 USB 2.0 KVM
8K KVM HDBT Extender Kit 100m – HDMI 2.1 USB 2.0 KVM over Cat6, 8K@30Hz 4:4:4, 4K@120Hz, 1080p@240Hz, HDCP 2.3, RS-232, Audio Out, PoC, Dolby Atmos DTS:X – KVM8K100E-P
The KVM8K100E-P is a professional-grade 8K KVM HDBT extender kit — transmitter and receiver — that extends HDMI 2.1 video, USB 2.0 peripheral control, bi-directional RS-232, and balanced analogue audio over a single Cat6 cable up to 100m/328ft. It is designed for installations where a PC or workstation must be located remotely from the operator’s display and input devices — server rooms, broadcast facilities, AV control rooms, medical imaging suites, education AV racks, and secure desktop deployments.
Signal path & distance
The transmitter takes HDMI 2.1 input and USB 2.0 from the host PC and encodes them as a HDBT signal over Cat6/6A/7 (100m/328ft) or Cat5e (90m/295ft). The receiver decodes back to native HDMI output and USB device ports. Maximum video bandwidth is 40Gbps. Supported resolutions include 8K@60Hz (4:2:0), 8K@30Hz (4:4:4), 4K@120Hz, 4K@60Hz, 1080p@240Hz, and a full range of VESA PC resolutions up to 5120×2160. HDCP 2.3 enforced end-to-end. Use certified 8K HDMI 2.1 cables throughout — standard or high-speed HDMI cables are insufficient at 8K and 4K@120Hz bandwidths. Maximum HDMI input cable length is 3m at 8K@60Hz and 5m at 4K@60Hz; output up to 10m.
KVM — USB 2.0 extension
A single USB 2.0 Type-B port on the transmitter connects to the host PC. Four USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the receiver (each rated at 1.25A) connect to keyboard, mouse, USB storage, or other peripherals. USB data is extended at up to 255Mbps over the HDBT link — no separate USB extender or network infrastructure required. This makes the KVM8K100E-P a self-contained solution for remote desktop operation over a single Cat6 run.
Audio
Full multichannel audio passes through HDMI on both transmitter and receiver: PCM 7.1, Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS 5.1. The receiver additionally features an AUDIO OUT port (5-pin phoenix connector) for balanced analogue PCM 2.0 de-embedding, allowing a local amplifier, mixer, or active speaker system to be driven independently of the HDMI display — useful in control rooms, lecture theatres, and boardrooms where audio routing is managed separately from video.
Power (PoC)
PoC is one-way from receiver to transmitter. Connect the single included 12V/3A adapter to the receiver and it powers both units via the Cat6 run — no mains outlet needed at the transmitter end. This is the recommended configuration. Both units can also be powered independently if required.
DIP switch configuration
The transmitter’s 4-pin SET switch controls: RS-232 mode (passthrough or HDBT firmware update), input HDCP (on/off), and EDID profile (Copy, Fix 4K@60 PCM 2CH, Fix 4K@30 PCM 2CH, Fix 1080p@60 PCM 2CH). If the source outputs a lower resolution than expected, adjust the EDID setting first — this resolves the majority of compatibility issues. The receiver’s 2-pin SET switch controls RS-232 mode only.
Cable & installation
Use solid-core copper Cat6 or Cat6A UTP, straight-through wired to T568B. Cat5e is supported to 90m but Cat6/6A is recommended for 8K signals. Avoid CCA cable, flat patch leads, and crossover wiring. Do not route alongside mains cabling. Connect all devices before powering on. Three LEDs per unit (Power, Status, Link) give real-time diagnostic feedback — if the Link LED is not solid, check the Cat6 connection before adjusting any other settings.
What’s in the box
1× Transmitter, 1× Receiver, 1× DC 12V/3A Power Adapter (US pins), 2× 3-pin 3.5mm Phoenix Connectors, 1× 5-pin 3.5mm Phoenix Connector, 8× Mounting Brackets with Screws.
- 8K KVM HDBT extender over Cat6/6A/7 up to 100m/328ft (90m/295ft over Cat5e) — extends HDMI 2.1 video, USB 2.0 keyboard/mouse control, and bi-directional RS-232 over a single Cat6 cable. Supports 8K@60Hz (4:2:0), 8K@30Hz (4:4:4), and 4K@120Hz. HDMI 2.1, HDCP 2.3, 40Gbps. Use certified 8K HDMI 2.1 cables (≤3m input, ≤10m output) for reliable high-bandwidth operation.
- USB 2.0 KVM extension at up to 255Mbps — one USB Type-B host port on the transmitter connects to a PC; four USB 2.0 Type-A device ports on the receiver (each up to 1.25A) connect keyboard, mouse, and other USB peripherals. Enables full desktop control from the display end without a separate USB extender, ideal for server rooms, broadcast racks, AV control rooms, and remote workstation deployments.
- Balanced analogue audio de-embedding on the receiver — the AUDIO OUT port outputs PCM 2.0 via a 5-pin phoenix connector for connection to an amplifier, mixer, or local speaker system independent of the HDMI display. Full lossless audio (PCM 7.1, Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio) passes through via HDMI on both transmitter and receiver. HDR10 supported.
- One-way PoC — connect the single 12V/3A power adapter to the receiver and it powers both units through the Cat6 run. No mains outlet required at the transmitter. 4-pin DIP switch on the transmitter configures RS-232 mode, input HDCP on/off, and EDID (Copy, Fix 4K@60 PCM 2CH, Fix 4K@30 PCM 2CH, Fix 1080p@60 PCM 2CH). Bi-directional RS-232 passthrough on both units for control system integration.
- Use solid-core Cat6 or Cat6A UTP, straight-through wired (T568B recommended) — crossover cable will not function.
