Corgi VA14405 Ford Fiesta Mk2 1.4 Ghia, Willow – Vanguards
Corgi VA14405 Ford Fiesta Mk2 1.4 Ghia, Willow – Vanguards, for ages 14+
The Mk2 Fiesta was launched in the autumn of 1983 and aft of the A-post was still recognisably based on the original 1976 Fiesta, which made sense because the car was still selling well
Safety Warning
A detailed die-cast scale model for adult collector. Not Suitable for children under 14 years.
The front was restyled however, partially to bring it more in line with the current Ford look, but also to make room to install the larger overhead cam, Compound Valve-angle Hemispherical combustion chamber (CVH) powerplant and five-speed transaxle
This was originally of 1298cc but that was superseded in 1986 by the lean burn 1392cc unit fitted to the car modelled
The Fiesta Mk2 remained in production until 1989, by which time an impressive 1,980,100 examples of all types had been produced
Ford marketed the Fiesta Ghia as having big-car luxury, combined with small car economy and convenience
It was fitted as standard with tinted glass, a vanity mirror on the passengers sun visor, Olivia and Crushed Velour fabric seats with adjustable head restraints, colour-keyed velour carpet, a digital clock, a tachometer, a trip recorder and extra vents for the very effective heating and ventilation system
