The General Dynamcis F-111 Aardvark is a twin-engine supersonic fighter with variable geometry wings. Produced from the end of the 1960s it remained in service until the end of the 90s constituting a decisive technological leap compared to the aircraft of the period for the solutions adopted. The F-111 was able to reach the speed of Mach 2.5 and carry a significant offensive load. The aircraft was equipped with a crew of two, sitting side by side in a pressurised cabin characterized by the possibility of ejection from the aircraft in case of emergency. The F-111 was used in several conflicts, including the Vietnam War, where it was used for night bombing missions and low-altitude attacks. Thanks to its sophisticated radar and ground guidance systems, it was able to fly bordering on the ground even in low visibility conditions, avoiding enemy defenses.
